Sandra Lemp: Designer & Dressmaker

Sandra Lemp

Sandra Lemp is a designer and dressmaker based in Bern, Switzerland. She studied fashion design at the Academy of Art and Design in Basel. During the study she worked at the Vivienne Westwood Studio in London. Among others, she twice won the Swiss Design Award and was offered a six month residency stay at the Red House Studio in the middle of New York City‘s East Village.

Her emphasis is on the artistic sustainability of every design. She believes in the value of a garment as a special piece, a second skin which will provide a comfortable shell for the wearer. Her designs are filled with a great passion for handcraft, colors, subtle details and precision. All the Demi–Couture collections are handmade at her studio and reproduced on demand only. She shares her knowledge on the topics of Fashion, Design and Art within lectures and mentorates. In the collaboration project A POST-GLOBALIZED STYLE BOOK she works on a participatory design experiment to encourage more individual and contemporary vestimentary statements. The project is supported by the Berner Design Stiftung (bernerdesignstiftung.ch).
